    Just do not come here if you want to deal with a rude employee—specifically the one with the two uneven braids. She was just rude and talking badly to the customer. She has a terrible personality, especially since she is the one who started it. Anna could have just said, "Sorry, we don’t have it," instead of having that attitude. Like really, Anna? I really tried to keep my composure, but that nasty little attitude is what caused this little accident. You would have thought at that grown age you would have had it under control. I gave this store a second chance after calling about an item, but they made the prices higher. Also, when I was buying a bell, they wanted me to put it on the counter. (I’m not the only one who has experienced that; other people have made this comment too.) I should have stepped out of that establishment when they asked me that. What if I wanted to carry it around the store? At the end of the day, Anna needs to work on her customer service skills and not give customers terrible service. I was actually looking forward to coming here, but Anna left a terrible impression. I hope and pray you recognize that what you put out is what you get back.

    Wonderful little magick/esoteric shoppe in Bridgeport with some awesome little items and great energy. They have an extensive candle selection which is great for anyone practicing candle magic, as well as a full bookshelf, incense, stones, cards, even a tea section!! Apparently if you burn one of their candles, you can bring the jar back to the shop and they'll give you a reading on it for free. Plus, they have a great point card system and free gifts if you purchase a certain amount of merchandise. Will definitely be coming here again! :)

    Guy asked us to place our items on the counter as if we were going to steal them. Came during the weekday just to browse while my sister was buying some stuff. As soon as she selected her item the guy said to put it on the counter as if she was gonna steal it when we were simply going to look around the shop. I found this a bit odd because I did not see him ask the other folks (white) to bring their stuff to the counter just us I'm assuming bc we are persons of color. Rubbed me the wrong way and I did not appreciate it. They do have a lot of unique items but many are extremely overpriced. Who is going to pay $16 for a small bottle of shampoo? But they need to lower prices for some of those topicals like lotions, shampoos and conditioners. I am interested in trying but way too pricey especially with how hard things are currently with the political climate and inflation I can't justify spending $16 for a small bottle of essential oil spray or shampoo/conditioner. They have teas, jewelry, cards, candles, a lot of incense and spiritual cleansing herbs like blue and white sage, mugwort, palos santos, and pottery as well. Also, it's very dim lit inside which I know probably goes with the ambiance of spirituality but I think it would be better to have brighter lighting to see the items better and more clearer. If they had some promos or sales maybe I'd consider spending some money here. Maybe.

    This is a lovely spiritual boutique that is packed to the brim with candles, books, crystals, lotions, potions, herbs, and everything in between. If there's something on your list that you need, Augustines probably has it, as their inventory is from the floor to the ceiling. There is ample street parking and it was not a problem both times I visited the shop. The shopkeepers are very helpful as well. A+ service and selection!

    I purchased recently a few items from this shop they were pretty cheap but the Mars candle for protection burned kinda dark up top & clearer mid way i burn many candles on a weekly basis for many things including protection & normally they dont burn this black so ima little auspicious about that but I'll update the results. Quick update I came in today and met a different lady i forget her name but she was younger than the last lady I met b4 she was so knowledgeable & patient & told me exactly what i needed to remove this evil hexes that was on me I bought the products she suggested in the pics & I swear I feel AMAZING & MY CANDLES ARE BURNING BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU MY DEAR ILL BE BACK SOON!🤏🏾💯💃🏾💖🙏🏾 Products i bought to remove hex: Go away evil wash Go away evil incense Unhex oil Reversal candles dressed Banishing candle Lemon grass mist China wash Be consistent with these products everyday & pray over yourselves 🙌🏾

    2Day I was back at their location after two weeks. I would first like to say I love the energy from the items to the people that works at this place. It’s a gentleman by the name of Tony I would like to give a big shout out to. We were talking while I purchased about 13 crystals. He was very open and very nice when I asked him a couple of questions from his point of view. I would recommend anyone that’s into power to shop here, they are very Good people.

    First: I want you to know who I am. I'm the one that came in with my dog when two ladies were working and they gave me dog lots of rubs and attention. ( They even told me to come back with her whenever I visit the store). I even spoke to a nice gentleman with large earrings. He asked me my name. My name is JENNA and I've got something to say. I've gone in the store several times and was always greeted with respect and courtesy. However, last week I went in and am older man named Jeff was manning the store. I tried asking him some questions and every time I went to open my mouth I was interrupted with something like, "I can't help you... What you see is what you get." I had to tell him that I wasn't finished asking my question... How could he possibly know what was going to come out of my mouth next?! (FYI: Humans can't listen and talk simultaneously). He also was definitely doing some racial profiling because he kept asking me, "Are you finished yet?" And watched my EVERY MOVE.(If I was finished, I would have gone to the counter to pay for my things, which is what I did when I was properly done). However, when a person of the lighter hue walked into the store, he was greeted with warm smiles and, "How can I help you?" When the man said he was just browsing, Jeff left him in peace. I did purchase what I wanted (for the last time) and kindly asked Jeff's name so I could make note of it. I called twice to speak to the owner but they weren't there... So I'm forced to leave this review. I love to support small businesses in Bridgeport, but I'm not giving my money to a store who continues to have someone like that on staff. It's sad to say, but I found exactly what I bought at that store, on Amazon. Money has no color, Jeff and Augustine's lost a frequent, loyal customer. (I gave 3 stars because the other associates are awesome. I must remove myself from all rudeness and racism, whether covert or overt). Do better Jeff. Do something about Jeff Augustine's. BTW: an associate encouraged me to write this review. They knew I was speaking about Jeff before I uttered his name... So Augustine's, please don't respond with some nonshalant excuse for Jeff's behavior. There is no excuse for it. A racist, is a racist. There is NO excuse for THAT behavior. He was surely focusing on me as I browsed through the store. His eyes were locked on me. Let me be clear, I am not the one to pull the race card easily. I watched him treat me VERY differently than the one other person in the store that happened to be of a lighter hue. An apology would have been fine and left it at that... But you tried to justify his behavior, which I cautioned you against, and that is just as worse as what he did. This world will never be better no matter how many times you write/say "peace and blessings" but your actions are not aligned. This is a teachable moment. There will be no "private" discussion. This is out in the open, where it should be. I hope you and Jeff can do better.

    Big fan of this place. My gf loves the stones and we buy our incense here. I also buy essential oils that I turn into beard oil and it's great.
