    My boyfriend and I happened upon Occult during a recent trip to Chicago as it was near our rental. I'm so happy we went in to check the shop out; it was a very cool store with a plethera of books, crystals, tarot cards, and more. We also ended up chatting with Bishop for a bit, and he was wonderful.

    Stopped in real quick! Two amazing dogs greeted me! Bishop was very kind! 10/10 would stop back! Lots of offerings from books, to bath salts!

    I absolutly love this place. They have a small but very nice selection of books and even have rare books. They keep the rare books understandalby locked up but they are more than happy to tell you what they have if you ask about them. Bishop is very nice and likes to chat. He also usually has his two dogs in with him as well. They might bark at you when you enter but they are just saying hello they are very sweet. Bishop is also happy to answer any questions you have too. If you are looking for something in paticular and they do not have it, they can also find it for you. They found me an out of print Crowley book that I have been looking for for YEARS now. Bishop even asked how long I have been reading Crowley and I let him know on and off since I was in high school, but how little I still actually know because Crawley is a little hard to read, and he even laughed because it's true. I cannot recommend this place enough. They even host different events and I do plan on attentending some in the not so distant future.

    I had a lovely experience while visiting The Occult bookstore. The energy was just right and they had what I needed. I enjoyed speaking with Bishop, Cora and their dogs. I will definitely be back. Thank you friends!

    I wrote a previous review of a bad experience I shared with “Bishop” at the store. I deleted the review out of good faith, as Lisa had promised to work with me. She had initially offered a refund but I declined in favor of having the work completed. Initially my impression of Lisa was great. However it’s been 21 days since I met with her and she has not reached out as promised, nor has she returned my calls. At this point, DO NOT go here. These people are not the kind that follow through or respect an individual or their situation. Run.!!!!
